Dance Centre Citydance competition livestreams

Background information on the event

Several dance competitions are held at Citydance Dance Centre throughout the year, some of which are to be streamed. Tickets are sold in the same way as on-site tickets, and access control is important.

The starting point for production

When streaming dance competitions, it must be taken into account that all dancers must have an equal share of screen time. Therefore, streaming is always done with a single wide-angle camera. In addition, tickets must be sold for the stream, so the broadcast must be technically flexible enough to allow access control. In addition, streaming has to take into account the fact that the days of the dance competition are very long.

Our solution

We try to place the broadcast equipment and camera in the space as discreetly as possible so as not to interfere with the live audience’s view of the performances. We pick the audio space from our own sound system, and ensure that the broadcast works flawlessly throughout the day or weekend of the event. In addition, we have worked with our client to design an access control implementation for the stream.
